The City’s first-ever Multimodal Transportation Plan (MMTP) has been advancing since its launch in 2021. The project team will be presenting a draft of the Plan in a joint meeting with City Council and the Planning Commission on Sept. 5. From there, an updated document will be presented to Planning Commission for an official recommendation to Council, and the document will be presented to City Council for first and second readings.
This Plan considers existing and planned future land uses, traffic operations, safety, access, mobility, and connectivity of all transportation modes such as walking, biking, transit, and driving. It is being completed in close coordination with local and regional plans and projects, including the City’s Legacy Lafayette Comprehensive Plan.
The results of the City’s multimodal analysis, in addition to community and stakeholder input, has helped to identify Lafayette’s transportation needs and develop near- and long-term actions and solutions to preserve and improve the City’s transportation system.
The MMTP project website, lafayetteco.gov/MMTP, provides a copy of the Draft Plan, a summary of survey results, the Existing Conditions Report, and a portal for community members to submit input.
Public comment period open through Sept. 15, 2023
A copy of the Draft MMTP is available on the project website. The community is invited to review the Plan and submit comments on this site. In addition, public comment periods will also be available during the meetings listed below.
