HIIT, or High-Intensity Interval Training, is a training technique that combines all-out quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short recovery periods.
HIIT improves aerobic and anaerobic fitness, blood pressure, cardiovascular health, insulin sensitivity, and cholesterol. It reduces abdominal fat and lowers body weight while maintaining muscle mass through EPOC.
EPOC, excess post-exercise oxygen consumption, is responsible for a more significant calorie burn than other activities of the same duration.
