1,000 Books Before Kindergarten logo

1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a simple, fun approach to helping young kids gain early literacy skills, and the confidence necessary to become strong readers.

How does it work?

  • Read a book, any book, to your child - newborn, infant, or toddler.
  • The goal is to read 1,000 books before your little one starts kindergarten. - you can do this!
  • You can read new books, or the same book again and again and again ...
  • eBooks count too! Find out how to borrow downloable books

Track your books with our paper log sheet, or use our online option! Find out more about the process - and get reading!
