Lafayette's Peak to Peak Charter School is the top Colorado high school in U.S. News and World Report's 2014 rankings, which are based mainly on the percentage of students who take and pass advanced placement exams and on standardized test scores.
At Peak to Peak, 98 percent of the high school seniors took an advanced placement test and 81 percent passed. On the state reading test, 90 percent scored proficient or advanced. Nationally, Peak to Peak was ranked 66th.
U.S. News collected data on more than 31,242 public high schools in the United States.
