On March 13, 2014 a body was discovered just north of Lusk, Wyoming. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigations processed the crime scene and the Lafayette Police Department was notified about the discovery.
The body that was discovered in Lusk, Wyoming has been identified as Nathaniel Tallman, the missing 25 year old Lafayette resident. After an incredibly thorough investigation two arrests have been made in the case. The two arrested parties are identified as Russell Britton, date of birth March 2, 1956, who is being held at the Boulder County Jail with no bond, and charged with 1st Degree Murder. Also under arrest is Moises Cazares Mendez, date of birth December 14, 1987, who is being held at the Las Colinas Detention Facility in San Diego, California for 1st degree Murder with a 1 million dollar bond.
The investigation is on-going and active. Due to the arrests being made in this case, all press information will now be relinquished from the Lafayette Police Department to Catherine Olguin with the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office. The Lafayette Police Department will not be able to release any further information on this case at this time.
