The recent floods were tremendously destructive to Lafayette Open Space lands, but the response from people like you was so overwhelmingly positive that we have not only made great headway in repairing the damage, we are now confidently pursuing an education and outreach initiative. We welcome your continued support and invite you to be part of a public program at Lafayette Public Library on January 16.

Program Information:

“Up, up and Away! – Take off with Lafayette Open Space!”
7 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Lafayette Public Library

After the floods of September, 2013, Lafayette Open Space is rising to new heights! Not only has outstanding citizen participation helped repair flood damage, new educational activities and avenues are being planned – including this very program!

Join Naturalist and educator, Martin Ogle, and Open Space Superintendent Jeff Moline for an interactive evening that will introduce exciting new educational programs and resources. Learn about and contribute your knowledge of local natural and human history, help select elements of interpretive signage, see and add to a growing collection of observations and art celebrating Lafayette’s heritage and more!

This program, designed for adults and youth age 13 and older, will be a amazing opportunity to learn and contribute to the future direction of Lafayette's Open Space Education and Outreach program, including planning for children’s and family activities. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 303.665.5588 x3615 or e-mail jeffm@cityoflafayette.com
