Open Space: A window into the science of a living planet

Wednesday, February 8, 2023

When we spend time in Open Spaces, we can get glimpses into how rock, water, plants, and animals are seamlessly connected as a single, living system – what is now known as Earth System Science. We can sense how the Sun’s energy animates the second-by-second, daily, and seasonal breaths of life! Open Spaces offer lessons for living sustainably as an integral part of life.

Join naturalist Martin Ogle to learn about our newest scientific understandings of Earth and how they are reflected all around us. Elizabeth Szorad, Lafayette's Sustainability Manager, will close the program with a brief overview of sustainability efforts in Lafayette.

This event is co-sponsored by the Lafayette Sustainability Division and the Boulder County Audubon Society.  No reservations required. For any questions contact Martin Ogle at Martin.Ogle@LafayetteCO.gov
