Reading, Writing, and Maker Buddies

Learning with an older buddy is a proven way to bolster confidence, foster a love of books, and just have fun!

How Does it Work?

In Reading Buddies regular sessions and playdates at the Library, kids have fun reading and playing games with teen volunteers. In Writing Buddies, kids and teens work together to brainstorm, write, and edit. Maker Buddies is an evolving program - in the past, kids have worked with older teens on designing projects to make in the Studio775 Makerspace.

  • Registration is required.
  • Sessions are 45 minutes or an hour, once a week for 4-6 week sessions.
  • If the session is full, you may add your child to the wait list.
  • If you are unable to make more than two sessions, your spot will be given to the next person on the wait list.
  • A parent or guardian must be present at the Library during each session.
