Reading & Writing Buddies

Reading or writing with an older buddy is a proven way to bolster confidence, foster a love of books and just have fun!

How Does it Work?

Reading Buddies and Writing Buddies

In Reading Buddies regular sessions and playdates at the Library, kids have fun reading and playing games with teen volunteers. In Writing Buddies, kids and teens work together to brainstorm, write, and edit.

Writing Buddies

Summer 2021 - Kids in grades 3-5
Outside on Wednesdays from 3-4pm on June 9, 16, 23, and 30.

Have fun brainstorming, writing, and editing in this mentoring program led by teen volunteers (in grades 8-12). We play writing games, share stories, and have fun!

Writing Buddies will take place outside the Lower-Level Meeting Room, on the plaza by the North Lawn, with access to the inside restrooms and water fountain. If there is inclement weather, we will meet virtually over Zoom.

Registration required. This registration commits your child to all sessions.
