2023 City of Lafayette Spring Cleanup

Acceptable materials include leaves, grass clippings, weeds, and bundled tree branches.

NEW in 2023:

Residents must use kraft paper bags ONLY for this event - large compostable bags are not acceptable.

Kraft bags are no longer an acceptable item for regular, weekly compost disposal per the new Compost Guideline changes. An exception is being made for this one program. If using a kraft bag to dispose of your yard waste during the Spring Cleanup, bags must be placed curbside and not inside bins.

As of April 1, 2023, a reduction of compostable materials by the only large compost facility in Colorado will allow only large kraft bags for the Spring Cleanup Event.  To find out more information, please visit Lafayette’s Compost Program.
