Building Permit Submittal Process

Quick Permits

Contractors can apply for Quick Building Permits online using the City of Lafayette MyGov Online Portal with your MyGov Account. This option is only for quick permits and not for those requiring a plan review. Once you submit your complete permit application through the MyGov portal, we will verify that the contractor licenses selected are in good standing, process the permit, and provide you with the fees by email when the permit is ready.  For permits that require a plan review, please see the review timelines above and the submittal guidelines below. Homeowners are required to submit an application for a Quick Building Permit by emailing application materials to buildingpermits@lafayetteco.gov
