The Lafayette Police Department utilizes an emergency notification system that allows residents of Lafayette to be notified of emergency situations. Notifications can be received in a variety of ways, including cell, home, and work phones, and by text messaging and/or email. Registration is required. Signing up for Boulder County's Emergency Notification System enables you to receive emergency alerts for up to five addresses in Boulder County. Additionally, you will receive tornado and flash flood warnings when any addresses listed in your account are within an area identified by a National Weather Service notification. Boulder County's Emergency Alert system also provides access to a translation app.
The Lafayette Police Department has partnered with Smart911, a free service that allows residents to create a safety profile to aid first responders. Creating an account privately stores information such as medical conditions, special needs, photos, pet data, and more in a secure database only accessible to law enforcement if you dial 911. Dispatchers relay preloaded information to the responding officer to serve you better!
