Adopt-a-Road

About the Program

This program is open to businesses, churches, civic organizations, and anyone who is interested in creating a cleaner, more enjoyable environment. Groups may adopt a section of road one-half mile or longer and must agree to pick up litter four times during each one-year commitment.

What Does the City of Lafayette Provide?

  • The city will install one sign in each direction of travel, crediting the organization for volunteering on the adopted section of road
  • The city will provide litter bags, bags for recycling, safety vests, and other information to the adopting organization
  • The city will remove the litter and recycling bags after the organization places the full bags at the edge of the roadway

How Do I Get Involved?

Review the Adopt-a-Road policies and submit your Adopt-a-Road application in person, by mail, by fax or email. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 303-665-5588 x1277.
