Active Adults Strength Training
Getting and staying fit after 50 can be a challenge. This class will get you ready to conquer that challenge and more! At the end of this progressive, skill-building program, you will know how to use free weights and machines safely to build your strength. Subsequent sections will build on the skills you have mastered and continue to build muscle strength, size and endurance and to improve flexibility, balance and coordination. Safety, posture, body control and awareness will be taught in this class.
Fitness Meetup - Personal Trainer in the Park
Meetups create possibilities. A Meetup is a platform for finding and building local communities. You can use our Meetups to meet new people, learn new things, find support, get out of your comfort zone, and pursue your passions - together! Personal Trainer in the Park is a new program offering a wide variety of exercises to help you get fit outside! Participate in a high-energy, physically distanced, strength and conditioning-based workout outside in a park. This class is sure to get your heart pumping and sweat flowing! Reap the benefits of increasing strength and stamina, improving muscle tone, burning lots of calories, meeting new friends, and increasing self-esteem while decreasing stress. Please dress for the weather. Meet in the Park Shelter near the playground by the Waneka Lake Boathouse Reschedule Information: Rescheduled if colder than 45 degrees or snow on the ground. Reschedule dates will be emailed. Registration Deadline: One day prior.
Zumba in the Pavilion
Perfect for "Everybody and Every Body"! Each Zumba® class is designed to bring people together to sweat it on. Zumba® takes the "work" out of workout, by mixing low- and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. How do we make this even better? Take the party outside to the most beautiful park in Lafayette. Meet at the Waneka Lake Pavilion, located by the Boathouse. It's going to be great, and we can't wait to see you there!
Strength & Conditioning for Middle and High School
Calling all middle and high school online class takers, athletes in the offseason, and anyone else who needs to MOVE! Strength and Conditioning for Middle or High School, designed and taught by a certified personal trainer, will improve all fitness levels by focusing on the foundations: mobility, stability, strength, endurance, power, speed, agility, and performance. Participants will engage in a variety of exercises to develop or improve their own fitness foundation improving sports or everyday activities.
