The City of Lafayette Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department offers an annual Christmas tree drop off program. Trees may be dropped off at the city Service Center located at 1700 Avalon Dr. Dates vary each year with the program running from the end of December through the end of January of the following year. Christmas trees are mulched by the City and used as ground cover in the City's parks and or flower beds. Please see the Community Calendar for specific details.
Dog waste will now be composted at the Dog Park. Please be sure to use only the compostable bags provided at the park to discard your pet waste, and deposit bags in the bins marked "dog waste".
Any person who owns property in Lafayette may apply to the City Forester in order to designate a tree on that property as a “landmark tree.” Find out program details and apply online.
