How to Connect to Library WiFi

  • Use your own device; no password required.
  • Connect to Lafayette Public Library Guest; launch browser window; read and accept terms and conditions.

Wireless Printing

Wireless printing is available from your own computer or mobile device. One printer is located on the Lobby level; the other is upstairs (behind the Adult Services desk).

  • Print in color or black and white: B/W prints: 10 cents/page; Color prints: 25 cents/page.
  • First, connect to WiFi; select Library Guest; check the box for terms and conditions.
  • Send your documents to a printer: 1st Floor Wireless or 2nd Floor Wireless
  • Pay for and pick up your prints from the staff person at the service desk on the level with the printer you selected.
  • Not seeing your printers? You may need to download a driver (for a PC) or an app.

How to Print from a Phone or Tablet

From ANY type of device, you will first need to connect to Library WiFi (Library Guest); accept terms and conditions.

Android Devices

  • Go to the document you want to print. Find and select the print icon. (It may be within your share menu or it might be visible on your document).
  • Scan for printers; select 1st Floor or 2nd Floor Wireless Printer.
  • Change any settings as necessary (color, one-sided or two-sided, main paper tray, etc); Print.
  • If you do not see our printers in your choices, you may be prompted to install a free HP plugin, or you may need to go to the Play Store and download the plugin:

Apple Mobile Devices

  • Go to the document you want to print.
  • Find and select the print icon. (It may be within your share menu or it might be visible on your document).
  • On iOS and macOS, most HP printers work with Apple AirPrint to provide full-quality printing without the need to download or install drivers. For additional functionality, download the HP Smart app from the App Store for iPhone and iPad or the Mac App Store.

Amazon Fire

  • Go to the document you want to print.
  • Select Print from the menu; use the down arrow to select 1st Floor or 2nd Floor Wireless Printer.

How to Print from a Laptop

Chromebooks

1. Connect to the Library’s WiFi (Library Guest) and accept the Terms.

Apple/iOS

1. Connect to the Library’s WiFi (Library Guest) and accept the Terms.

2. Open the item you want to print, and then tap the Share icon.

3. Tap Print or the Print icon to open Printer Options.

4. Tap Select Printer to select 1st Floor or 2nd Floor Wireless Printer.

5. Change any settings as necessary (color, one-sided or two-sided, main paper tray, etc); Print.

Windows PCs

1. Connect to the Library’s WiFi (Library Guest) and accept the Terms.

2. Go to your PC’s settings for printers, and scan to see if you can "discover" either the 1st Floor or 2nd Floor Wireless Printer.

3. If you don’t find one, you may receive a prompt to download a mobile printing app from the Play Store or iTunes. For older operating systems, you may need to download a print driver.

HP Print Drivers for Windows PCs:

2. For Windows 10 64-bit laptops, open the Universal Print Driver section and select one.

3. For other Windows operating systems, click on the link that says Choose a different OS, and select your setup from the popup box.
