The Arts and Cultural Resources Department promotes and supports Lafayette's varied arts, cultural, and historic resources in order to develop a strong sense of community, further economic development, and preserve our heritage.
We actively coordinate, promote, and act as a resource for the local arts scene. Our work is directed by the vision, mission, and strategies of the Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission, the Public Art Committee, the City’s Comprehensive Plan, the City's Downtown Vision Plan, and collaborations with Lafayette's many arts and cultural organizations.

We will honor our commitment to equity by continuing our work in the following ways:
Working with community members to develop programs that they believe support their vision and goals for the arts.
Engaging and encouraging people from under-represented groups to become part of our arts and cultural team as audience members, volunteers, board members, and members of our staff.
Being allies by learning about and speaking up for equity, diversity, and inclusion.
