Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Lafayette Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (Tax ID number 84-1310502). Our mission is to support the Lafayette Public Library in Colorado. Your support helps us encourage literacy for children and adults and contribute to Lafayette’s bright future. Want to get involved? Join the Friends today!

- Summer Reading Program - maintains and builds literacy skills by encouraging children to read throughout the summer
- Studio 775 Makerspace
- Brainfuse - Help Now (homework help) and Job Now
- Community outreach programs to public schools, senior housing, memory care facilities, childcare centers, and Little Free Libraries
- Author visits
- Book giveaways for community reading programs
- Lafayette Mini-Con
- Aunt Flow feminine hygiene products
- BookPage magazine

- Remember the Friends of the Lafayette Colorado Library in your will or trust. Please contact us for further details.
- Purchase items at our year-round Friends Bookstore and quarterly Library lobby book sales.
- Honor holidays or special occasions for friends and relatives with a gift donation, bookplate, or a memorial to the Friends.
The Friends meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 5pm at the Library. Members of the public are welcome!

The Friends of the Lafayette Library Foundation accepts gently used books, audiobooks on CD, DVDs, puzzles, and gift items. All proceeds put your donations to work by helping to fund Lafayette Public Library programs.
Shop the Friends Bookstore
- Shop our quarterly Lobby book sales! Find upcoming sales on our calendar.
- Stop by our year-round sale in the Library's lobby-level bookstore.
- Prices range from $.50 - $3 with some specially priced books, gift items, and DVDs.
- Selections are updated regularly, so visit often! Cash, credit/debit cards, and checks are accepted at the Library customer service desk in the lobby.
Donate Items
The Friends appreciate your donations of new and gently used items! Drop off items during the Library's open hours.
We can accept a maximum of two boxes, or four bags, of:
- Hardback/paperback fiction and nonfiction
- Children’s books
- DVDs
- Games and jigsaw puzzles with all pieces
In order to take advantage of our space and maximize our ability to support Library programs, we are not able to accept:
- Books that are dirty, missing pages, have writing in them, or have torn dust jackets
- Study guides, home school materials, or company-specific materials (example: HR guides)
- Magazines, pamphlets, brochures, binders
- Music CDs
